WINDSOR CHARTER TOWNSHIP BOARD

REGULAR MEETING

JULY 12, 2022 – 7:00 PM

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm by Supervisor Slucter with the Pledge of Allegiance. 

Present:  Slucter, Rumsey, Fritts, Myers, Piper, Pray and Pisano

Absent:  None

 

Piper moved and Myers seconded to approve the agenda as written.  Carried unanimously.   

 

Pisano moved and Piper seconded to approve the Consent Agenda.  Carried unanimously.

 

General Fund consisting of Voucher #34108 through Voucher #34147 equaling: $63,672.27 plus digital transfers and payments of $1,604.00 making a Grand Total of $65,276.27. 

 

Payroll Report consisting of Voucher #42234 through #42251 and Direct Deposit #DD3348 through #DD3401 plus digital payments for a Grand Total of $85,519.99.

 

Reports:

 

Sheriff’s Report:  Deputy Holliday reported on incidents in the township. 

    

     Planning Commission:  Meeting cancelled.

 

     Sewer Board:  Meeting cancelled.

 

     Emergency Service Department:  Chief Miller reported: 1) Responded to three structure fires in our area, assisted Delta Township in seven structures fires and Benton township with two structure fires and a semi-trailer that was burning on the highway.  Also responded to six traffic accidents. 2) Watching House Bills 5115 & 6086 that will affect Emergency Services personnel.  3)  MIOSHA has updated Rule 74, the general industry safety and health standard for Firefighting in Michigan.  Currently reviewing our policies to be in line with new update.  4)  Slucter moved and Myers seconded to accept the resignation of Dean Butler and approve removing trainee status for Claretta Duckett-Freeman to Firefighter/EMT.  Motion carried unanimously.

   

     Assessor/Preston Community Services:  Board of Review is scheduled on July 19th at 9 am for veterans and poverty exemptions and make corrections.  Continuing with field work.

 

Supervisor’s Report:  1) A letter was received from the Delta Township Fire Department to Windsor Township Emergency Services expressing their gratitude for the support received while everyone grieved the tragic loss of Aaron Gorden.  Letter was read into record.  2) Have started working on the 2023 Budget.

 

Public Officials: 

Jim Bogi, Public Services Director reported: 1) Had 45 volunteers for Community Cleanup Day.  2) Last week picked up 47 tires from the ditch on Dimondale Hwy.

Unfinished Business:

Rumsey moved and Fritts seconded to un-table Zoning Ordinance Update.  Motion carried unanimously.  A review of Articles 1 thru 5 of the Zoning Ordinance Update was done. Clarifications and corrections were made. Several items were added to Definitions.  Board members to continue reviewing and submit questions or possible changes. Fritts moved and Myers seconded to table Zoning Ordinance Update until next meeting to allow for further review.  Motion carried unanimously.
